Dear Mortgage Professional,

In fact, I personally know a few mortgage agents who are NOT very impressive but they still seem to get all the clients and closed deals they want.  Would you like to know why?

You see, you can be the best underwriter in the world.  You may be able to close deals quicker, faster and easier than anyone elase around-- but if no one knows about you and what you can do for them, you'll go no where.

 

The faster you understand this truth, the closer you are to becoming a well-paid, highly-respected mortgage professional.

Failing to understand (or accept) this principle is so poisonous that it can kill any mortgage business...fast.  You might be an underwriting wizard, but that alone won't get new deals landing on your desk. 

 

No matter how great your technical skills are, your business will wither away and die like many, if you can’t convince people to use your services.

Education-Based Marketing – The process used to attract and land highly-qualified clients by giving them what they want, information and advice, and removing what they don’t want, a sale pitch.

 

Education-based marketing is the exact opposite of selling-based marketing, which is built around a sales pitch and is often delivered using methods that abruptly reach out to prospective clients.  Examples of selling-based marketing could be telephone cold-calling, unsolicited direct mail, and blatant advertising.

 

The problem with this selling-based marketing is...

  • Prospects go out of their way to avoid you and your sales message.  People are repulsed by sales pressure and sales tactics. 

  • Prospects don't trust you because most salespeople will do anything to make money.

  • Prospects get defensive because they know you're going to try to sell them something they neither need or want.

  • YOU feel scared, timid, and embarrassed because you have to overtly boast about your mortgage brokering services.

With Education-Based Marketing, the method of marketing I teach in my Mortgage Superstar Coaching Program, your message is built around the sharing valuable information.  Your educational message replaces your selling message.
