Step 1 - Select a Specific Niche Market to Service

 

If someone was to ask me what the number one key to successfully marketing your mortgage business is, I would answer without hesitation, selecting and focusing on one niche market.

 

You see, once you start to focus on one niche market, all your marketing efforts immediately become 10 times easier.  It's true.  It's easier to attract prospects.  It's easier to generate qualified loan applications. It's easier to get referrals.  You can start to reuse your solutions and make huge profits on your services. 

 

Everything you do becomes so much easier!

 

And ironically, this is the number one area where most mortgage professionals struggle.  I've heard every reason under the sun why a mortgage broker or loan officer just "can't" focus on one niche.  To date, not one reason I've heard is legitimate.

 

How Do I Choose My Niche?

This is probably the most common question I'm asked.  Please listen to my audio seminar and fill in the handout.  I talk and write all about this in these two resources.  However, the very best niches are the ones that...

 

1. Have clients with a high lifetime value. (potential for renewals, refinancing and repurchases)

2. Can be easily identified and affordably contacted.

3. Have little competition.

4. Has at least 10,000 plus independent "buying units"

5. Have very bad problems that you can solve.

6. You have expertise in.

7. You are passionate about

 

How to Quickly Penetrate a Niche

 

You can quickly penetrate a niche by simply creating an information product (ie. a special report) and promoting it as a free resource to the niche.  It doesn't matter what mortgage products you are offering, the fastest way to penetrate a niche (and get clients) is by creating an information product and offering it to the niche!

 

In Step 4 I teach you how to quickly create a simple information product that people in your niche will want.  Before you do that, you'll need to do some research to select your ideal high profit niche.

The Directory of Associations - This CDROM has a listing of over 30,000 associations.  If you can't find a suitable niche after perusing this resource then you'll never find a niche. 

 

Encyclopedia of Associations - This is a three volume set with contact information for over 22,000 associations.  You can buy the whole set on ebay for $ 10!

 

SRDS (Standard Rate Data Service) - The SRDS is a huge catalog of lists.  By lists I mean lists of people.  It contains just about every list known to man.  You might be able find one at your local library.
